Be ready, as once you get close to the end, one of the shadows will warp forward and attack. Now that you have a light stored in your Angel Lamp, cautiously make your way back down the long alleyway and sidestep the shadows stumbling about. Spots that change with a light shift are marked on the map as well with what looks like light yellow mesh. You can see where light shifts are inactive or activon the map. The Dark Place Alley Word of Power - Ground Level Shine your flashlight on it for a few seconds and you'll unlock your first Words of Power, this one being Words of Fix.

Walk through the hallway and you'll soon find yourself in front of a door with a spiral of yellow words above it. Look to the left of it and you'll spot the flash of yellow arrows pointing to a small alcove that wasn’t there when the light was on. With a way to fight back against the darkness, you can also now take the light with your Angel Lamp and collect it, but prepare for a slight shift in terrain as you do so.īefore heading back the way you came, turn around in the alley toward the flickering lamp. After he passes, you can grab the Flashlight and Revolver, and note the locked door just past the body. Round the corner, and you’ll witness a strange vision in front of the former detective, who lies in a pool of blood in the corner. Before they can talk more, the light at the end of the alley will go out, and Wake’s new friend will soon disappear after going to investigate. Look left from where the subway entrance should be, and you should spot another brightly lit alley (with the helpful neon sign for “ Neighborhood Illumination” pointing to the alley).īefore entering the alley, look to the right for a storefront with a single flickering television, which will play another tape of Alan in his Writer's Room.Īs you advance through the long corridor, Wake will be accosted by a familiar face, but one that doesn’t seem to recognize him, and is playing a part that may have been created by Wake himself. Still, you can go left under the nearby stairs to find a toolbox with items, and another across the street by another locked alley entrance. If you look to the right, you can spot one bright light source in a distant alley, but it’s past a locked gate. You’ll need to find a way to “power up” the nearby light by taking it from somewhere else, so your next task is to find a worthy candidate. When you head towards the flickering light along Caldera Street, you might see a sign for the Caldera Subway, but there doesn’t seem to be an entrance anywhere.

If you’re looking for some extra items, check out the front of the OD Diner opposite the locked studio entrance, and you can find a red toolbox with health items inside. To your left, leading up to where the Caldera Street Station should be.Īs you wander around, you may encounter shifting shadows and aberrations, and though most will vanish as you draw close, it’s probably best to give them a wide berth while you don’t have any way to defend yourself. You can see that this area consists mostly of an empty square to the left, and two major streets. To help, look to the left of the phone booths to spot a Dark Place Map of Caldera Street Plaza. Alan will spot a Subway Ticket as he hangs up, giving you something to get into the station with, but it might help to have something to make the entrance easier to find.
